Agriculture Faculty Animal Science or Agriculture Business 

The agriculture department at the College of the Ozarks is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Agriculture, with responsibilities that include teaching and advising in the subject area of animal science or agriculture business/economics.     

The ideal candidate will have a broad background in animal science or agriculture business, the capacity to effectively teach a variety of courses, a strong commitment to mentoring students, demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues, and experience in production agriculture. 

Potential teaching responsibilities in animal science could include animal nutrition, management of livestock production, genetics, animal breeding and reproductive physiology, and livestock evaluation. 

Potential teaching responsibilities in agriculture business could include courses in agriculture marketing, general farm management, financing, agriculture risk, US agriculture policy and additional classes that align with the expertise of the applicant. 

In addition to teaching and advising duties, and depending on interest, the successful candidate may be expected to oversee some animal research projects on the College’s livestock farms. This position requires an earned M.S. in Animal Science or Agriculture Business, with a Ph.D. preferred. The ideal starting date for this position is fall 2024 or spring 2025.

Starting date is August 2024. The mission of the Department of Nursing is to present a Christ-centered, Biblically-based, character-driven nursing education program while preparing qualified individuals for a spiritual role as a professional nurse providing service to Christ and humankind.

Full-time position requires eligibility for RN licensure in Missouri, a master’s degree in nursing (doctorate degree preferred), a minimum of two years teaching experience (BSN teaching preferred), a minimum of five years RN experience, demonstrated clinical expertise in fundamentals and medical-surgical nursing. C.N.E. or specialty certification preferred. Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Humanities Faculty Position (9-12)

School of the Ozarks, a laboratory school of College of the Ozarks, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in humanities instruction. Starting date is August 2024 with some required training dates in the summer; rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Master’s degree or higher preferred but not required. Primary responsibility would include classroom management and implementing an integrated humanities program in grades 9-12. The position might include organizing, writing curriculum, and directing the program which integrates history, literature, natural philosophy (science), and Christian worldview. The position is considered a College of the Ozarks faculty position, teaching in the laboratory school under the direction of the dean of the lab school, Dr. Brad Dolloff.

Director of the Student Counseling Center

The College of the Ozarks invites applicants to fill the position of Director of the Student Counseling Center. The Director of Student Counseling provides counseling services for students, and clinical administration, direction, and leadership to the college’s Student Counseling Center. The position reports to the VP for Christian Ministries and works to ensure the scope and delivery of mental health services are aligned with student needs and the College’s Christian mission and vision. Essential Job Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide clinical administration, direction, supervision, and case consultation for professional mental health therapists.
  • Manage departmental budget

  • Maintain current and expected standards of practice used by college and university counseling centers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS – Required qualifications to effectively perform job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

  • Graduate degree in counseling, psychology, social work or other related field.
  • 5+ years of related experience required.  Work in a college setting is a plus.
  • Missouri professional licensure required.
  • Experience in training and supervising graduate interns and provisional licensees as required by intern graduate programs and Missouri licensing board.
  • Supervision certification and continuing education upkeep in supervisory practices.
  • Thorough knowledge and application of ethics, laws, regulations governing mental health practices.

Public Safety Officer Position

The College of the Ozarks is looking for a public safety staff officer.  The general duties of the staff officers include general patrol of the campus, building security (locking and unlocking facilities on a set schedule), regulating access to the campus through the front gates, directing traffic, and parking cars for special events. The public safety department provides 24/7 coverage, which often requires working, holidays, and varied shifts.
