Behavioral Sciences Professor

Development Manager 

The College of the Ozarks is looking for a full-time temporary Development Manager (July 2024 – December 2024).  This position engages in donor relations and oversees student office assistants. This role will plan and execute college events. This is an important role that requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as demonstrate strong qualities that will represent the five-fold mission of the College through Academic, Vocational, Christian, Cultural, and Patriotic Missions. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Manage student office assistants.
  • Perform a wide range of administrative tasks, including, but not limited to, data entry, answering phone calls, running reports, and submitting requisitions. 
  • Communicate with donors via email and telephone, and in-person, providing information as required. 
  • Assist in the coordination of campus tours and donor visits. 
  • Plan and execute a wide range of donor events, coordinating all details. 
  • Process trust and estate beneficiary documents and set up gift annuities and scholarships as required. 
  • Apply for grants.
  • Coordinate the annual student awards ceremony.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS – Required qualifications to effectively perform job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

  • Bachelor's degree in Fundraising, Finance, Marketing, Business, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience. Preferred experience with Virtuous or other donor CRM.
  • Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
  • CPR certification preferred.

Agriculture Education Faculty with an emphasis in Agriculture Business or Animal Science

The agriculture department at the College of the Ozarks is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Agriculture Education/ Agriculture Business or Animal Science with responsibilities that include teaching in these subject areas, working with secondary education institutions, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and advising in the subject area of agriculture education.

Agriculture Faculty Animal Science or Agriculture Business 

The agriculture department at the College of the Ozarks is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Agriculture, with responsibilities that include teaching and advising in the subject area of animal science or agriculture business/economics.     

The ideal candidate will have a broad background in animal science or agriculture business, the capacity to effectively teach a variety of courses, a strong commitment to mentoring students, demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues, and experience in production agriculture. 

Potential teaching responsibilities in animal science could include animal nutrition, management of livestock production, genetics, animal breeding and reproductive physiology, and livestock evaluation. 

Potential teaching responsibilities in agriculture business could include courses in agriculture marketing, general farm management, financing, agriculture risk, US agriculture policy and additional classes that align with the expertise of the applicant. 

In addition to teaching and advising duties, and depending on interest, the successful candidate may be expected to oversee some animal research projects on the College’s livestock farms. Biology Faculty Position

College of the Ozarks invites applications for a full-time teaching position in its biology department. The primary responsibilities for this position will include classroom and laboratory instruction for upper-level human physiology and general biology for majors. The successful candidate may also teach additional courses in immunology, embryology or other courses related to their field of expertise. Most biology majors are pre-professional students in health-related fields (pre-med, pre-dental, pre-PA, etc.) or students seeking admission to biology graduate programs. A Ph.D. in biology or a terminal degree in a related field is preferred. Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience; may lead to a multi-year letter of appointment.

Non-teaching responsibilities include maintaining laboratory equipment, advising students, supervising student workers in the biology department, participating in semiannual faculty workshops, serving on campus committees, and attending monthly division meetings.
