Job Description:
The Accounts Payable office is open 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, which somewhat limits flexibility in scheduling. The office regularly deals with students, faculty, staff, and people from off-campus, both in person and via telephone. The ability to maintain confidentiality at all times, both in and out of the office, is a significant requirement for student workers.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Input invoices,
Assist with printing checks.
Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Assist supervisor with other office-related duties,
General cleaning of each office area.

Maintaining the confidentiality of student educational records is a primary responsibility for this office. The Accounts Payable office has a dress code.

Student Admissions Assistant

Job Description:
The Admissions Office operates from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, and is the first contact with potential students and their families. The Admissions assistants work extensively with prospective students, from providing information about the College and its programs, to conducting tours for individual and/or groups of prospective students and working with prospective students’ applications/files.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Greet all visitors to the Admissions Office,
Information requests/mailings,
Prospective student tours of campus,
Record and process new applications received,
Record new information/documentation received for applicant files,
Periodic correspondence with applicants regarding file completion,
Answer all calls concerning candidate files,
Auditing of admissions files,
Recording fees and other materials received for accepted students,
Transfer information/files to other offices at appropriate times,
Periodic correspondence with accepted students,
E-mail replies and follow-up,
Schedule recruiter visits to schools and college fairs,
Mailings to high school counselors.
Secondary duties and responsibilities:
General cleaning of the office and office restroom,
Assist, on occasion, the work supervisor and/or dean with special projects,
Help other departments on campus.

Job Description:
As team members, we are expected to be at work from 8 am to 9 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8 am to 5 pm on Friday. We are all responsible for carrying out the Agriculture Office mission statement: Our mission is to assist the agriculture professors and students in the general operation of the department. The following areas are vital to the success of our mission: appearance, student recruitment, teamwork, attention to detail, and to provide information about the Agriculture Department. Team management is practiced in the Agriculture Office. This style of management empowers each assistant to manage projects and improve the standardization of office procedures. As office assistants we provide general secretarial services to the agriculture professors, to the managers of the farm operations, and to the students of College of Ozarks.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Each office assistant is required to manage at least one project each semester. The office organization system is continuously updated by the revamping of project procedural manuals,
Typing, use of computers, organization of records,
Mail pickup and delivery,
Office management,
Serve as a receptionist,
Supervise the computer lab,
Clean,
Assist students,
Preserve the department library,
Serve as project managers,
Coordinate the various department-sponsored workshops,
Answer phones,
Organize reception tables for division and department functions,
Assist the AG Dept Weekend Duty officer when assigned (8 am to 5 pm on Saturdays).

Job Description:
The agronomy work station assists with field improvements and production activities. Crops grown are used for silage and hay to feed the College’s beef and dairy cows.

Job Description:
Students will be scheduled to work on agronomic duties at the dairy and at various beef farms. This workstation may require some weekends depending on the field work that is needed at the time. General duties may include: spraying, planting, and harvesting forage crops, maintain equipment, and fence lines.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Operate tractors, brush hog, no-till drill, sprayers, hay mowers, hay rake, balers, bailage wrappers, mowers, weedeater and chainsaw,
Up keep and maintenance of the above mentioned equipment,
Keep record of forage pasture growth, chemical application and production,
Up keep fence lines, electric fences and pastures,
Communicate with work supervisor and work well as part of a team.
Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Set out irrigation,
Care for animals at various farms when help is needed,
Build or assist with building fences,
Talk to visitors and give tours when needed.

Additional Remarks
Students working at the Agronomy workstation may be working at various beef farms, dairy or hay grounds during the week. This will require travel to the various locations. Students must be safety conscious at all times when traveling to and from work locations and when operating equipment. Students must be trainable and dependable. They must be able to communicate with and work closely with the work supervisor and other students.
Learning Objectives:
The student will:
Become knowledgeable and demonstrate competencies in soil and land management issues, soil sampling, soil fertility, crop and forage production, and pesticide application.
Learn and perform basic construction, repair and fence-building skills needed to successfully maintain a livestock production operation,
Learn how to operate and/or show improvement with various pieces of equipment. Equipment may include: tractors, farm truck, weed eaters, chainsaws, brush-hog, hay rake, hay mower, hay baler, hay tedder, skid steer, manure spreader, bale hauling trailer, flatbed trailers and irrigation equipment,
Learn how to keep adequate production records, including soil fertility, nutrient management, pesticide application and production records,
Learn and demonstrate the ability to work both independently, and as a team player while at the various school-owned farms and in the Agriculture Department,
Demonstrate necessary safety skills as they perform various tasks,
Learn the importance of being punctual and ability to complete and show improvement in various farm duties and chores assigned by the agronomy supervisor,
