Most are smiling at the camera, and a large computer monitor sits on the table to the right. The College's recognition reflects the commitment of its faculty and staff to the institution's mission and to creating a supportive environment for students and fellow employees.

College of the Ozarks has been recognized as one of the 2026 Great Colleges to Work For, receiving recognition in four categories for its workplace culture and employee experience.

The Great Colleges to Work For program recognizes colleges and universities that demonstrate strong workplace environments based on feedback from faculty and staff. Now in its 19th year, a total of 76 colleges were recognized among 199 participating institutions.

College of the Ozarks received recognition in four categories, including Mission and Pride, Job Satisfaction and Support, Compensation and Benefits, and Confidence in Senior Leadership.

The Mission and Pride category recognizes institutions where employees report a strong sense of connection to and pride in their institution and its mission. Job Satisfaction and Support focuses on employees' satisfaction with their jobs, including job fit, autonomy, and available resources. Compensation and Benefits recognizes employee satisfaction with compensation and benefits. Confidence in Senior Leadership reflects employees' perceptions of and confidence in their institution's senior leadership.

"This recognition is deeply meaningful because it comes from our own people, the faculty and staff who live out the mission of College of the Ozarks every day,” said Dr. Brad Johnson, president of College of the Ozarks. “Their dedication to our students and commitment to our Christ-centered vision make this an extraordinary place to work and serve. We are grateful to see that reflected in these honors.”

The College's recognition reflects the commitment of its faculty and staff to the institution's mission and to creating a supportive environment for students and fellow employees.

Peterson, director of student engagement and Camp Lookout director. “What makes the College special is the people and the shared commitment to serving others. Working alongside colleagues who genuinely care about our students has reinforced the value of investing in others and reminded me that even small acts of encouragement can make a lasting difference.”

The 2026 Great Colleges to Work For profile for College of the Ozarks highlights the College's Christian mission and its commitment to serving students who, because of economic hardship, might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend college.
