The image is a promotional graphic featuring a waffle cone filled with a scoop of white ice cream streaked with bright blue swirls, set against a softly blurred indoor background. Large white text reads “The Keeter Center, College of the Ozarks” and “I Pledge Program,” giving the image a welcoming, advertisement-style appearance. Children who recite the Pledge of Allegiance from memory at Nettie Marie's College Creamery during select July afternoons will receive a complimentary scoop of homemade ice cream as part of College of the Ozarks' America 250 celebration. The limited-edition "America's Birthday Cake Ice Cream" is featured as this year's commemorative flavor.

POINT LOOKOUT, MO. — As America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, College of the Ozarks is inviting children to honor the nation’s heritage through a longstanding tradition that combines patriotism and a sweet reward.

Throughout July, Nettie Marie’s College Creamery, located in The Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks, will continue its participation in the "I Pledge" program, rewarding children who recite the Pledge of Allegiance from memory with a complimentary scoop of homemade ice cream.

The program is one of several initiatives connected to the College’s America 250 efforts, which seek to inspire a renewed appreciation for the principles, freedoms, and responsibilities of American citizenship as the nation approaches its semi quincentennial celebration.

Children ages 12 and younger may receive one free scoop of ice cream by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance from memory between 3 and 5 p.m. on the following dates:

• July 2
• July 4
• July 9
• July 16
• July 23
• July 30

The program reflects the College’s commitment to patriotic education and civic engagement. For more events and information about America 250 celebrations at College of the Ozarks, visit the website: america250.cofo.edu

More About The ‘I Pledge’ Program

“The ‘I Pledge’ program is a meaningful tradition at The Keeter Center,” said Allie Jackson, sales coordinator at The Keeter Center. “As we celebrate America 250, it is especially meaningful to encourage young people to learn and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Patriotic education is an important part of the College’s mission, and we are proud to recognize these young Americans while creating memories they can share with their families.”

In conjunction with the program, the Creamery is featuring a limited-edition flavor, “America’s Birthday Cake Ice Cream,” created in recognition of the America 250 celebration commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The specialty flavor features cake batter gelato blended with red, white, and blue sprinkles; pieces of yellow cake; and swirls of blue frosting. The flavor was designed to celebrate the nation’s semi quincentennial with a colorful dessert inspired by birthday cake traditions.

Nettie Marie’s College Creamery is located inside The Keeter Center on the College of the Ozarks campus and offers handcrafted ice cream made with milk from the College’s campus dairy.
