Seating still available for annual Fall Convocation on Oct. 12

POINT LOOKOUT, MO. — College of the Ozarks will host James Brown (also known as “JB”), host of The NFL Today on CBS, as the annual Fall Convocation speaker on Thursday, Oct. 12. Area leader and dean of School of the Ozarks, Dr. Brad Dolloff, will serve as host for the talk-show-style convocation with JB.

The presentation, titled “Faithful Influence: An Evening with James “JB” Brown,” will allow JB to expound on a life of faith, service, success, and challenge.

“In preparing for the convocation and my role as host, I have been humbled and honored by JB at every turn: His testimony, his enthusiasm for life and leadership, and his complete immersion in the Word of God have already blessed my life,” Dolloff said. “When we talked with him last, via Zoom call, he had stepped in as host of CBS evening news the previous evening. He always has a take-away or encouragement to share from his daily life.

“I pray in the time we have with him on the stage, that his effusive personality, his love of God, and his testimony will impact others for Christ in a monumental way. His seat at the table of influence has allowed him to interact with powerful personalities for years. What comes through in every anecdote he shares? His decision to stand firm in his witness for Christ.”

College of the Ozarks will host JB, host of The NFL Today on CBS and a special CBS news correspondent, for the Leonard B. and Edith Gittinger Fall Convocation on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023. A three-time Emmy Award-winner, he has hosted the Super Bowl a record-breaking 11 times.

Limited seating remains available for the event. To obtain tickets for the free event, visit the College website (www.cofo.edu) or click here: https://forms.cofo.edu/232417401381952

“This new talk-show style format has proven to be a crowd-pleaser and a really meaningful way for all of us to engage with our guests, high caliber speakers who also are world leaders and cultural icons,” said Dr. Sue Head, vice president for cultural affairs and dean of character education. “Brad Dolloff is a perfect choice to serve as host with JB for this convocation. They both have a love of students, sports, and the Word of God. This night is going to be one of encouragement and hope for all those in attendance, and we are especially grateful for the opportunity to invite area student athletes and coaches to experience this with us.”
