Machine Shop takes care of campus needs in the areas of welding and sheet metal fabrication. They also assist in roof repairs.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
General welding and using a cutting torch,
Sheet metal fabrication,
Assist in roof repairs.
Secondary duties and responsibilities:
General cleaning of Machine Shop,
Any additional task given by work supervisor and assisting on various campus tasks.
Dependability, promptness, and adherence to the work schedule,
Attention to detail,
Complete campus driver’s safety training class,
Take care of College equipment,
Follow directions well.
Ability to work with others,
Some knowledge of welding equipment,
Responsibility to complete tasks,
Take initiative and follow directions well.
The student will:
Learn to use welder (stick, mig and tig),
Learn to fabricate metal for all applications on campus,
Learn general welding repair for various equipment,
Learn proper use of ban saws,
Learn to work with others as a team,
Learn how to clean work areas properly.
