Heating and Air Student Worker

The Heating & Air shop is responsible for maintenance and regulation of all heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in all existing and new campus facilities.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Assist work supervisor with general maintenance and repair of HVAC systems campus-wide,
Change filters on HVAC units,
Make repairs on units for leaks, etc.,
Completion of work orders in timely manner.
Keep track of student tools and equipment.
Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Any task given by Heating and Air supervisor,
Assist work supervisors in other areas on campus,
Must be able to work well with other personnel campus wide, due hot the need of entering and working in all campus facilities.
Must take care of all College equipment,
Must complete campus driver’s safety training class and forklift training,
Dependability, promptness, and adherence to work schedule.
Takes initiative and follows directions well,
Responsibility to complete tasks on own or with other students or supervisors,
Ability to work well with others,
Communicate well with supervisors and students.
The student will:
Learn to assist with maintenance and repairs of HVAC systems campus wide,
Learn to change filters on HVAC units,
Learn to make repairs on HVAC unit leaks, etc.,
Learn the basic maintenance of refrigerators, coolers, ice machines, water fountains, and other foodservice equipment,
Learn time management on completion of work orders,
Learn to keep track of student tools and equipment,
Perform any task given by work supervisor,
Clean shop area,
Clean equipment rooms on campus,
Clean shop truck.
