The Cash Accounts office is open 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, which somewhat limits flexibility in scheduling. The office regularly deals with students, faculty, staff, and people from off-campus, both in person and via telephone. The ability to maintain confidentiality at all times, both in and out of the office, is a significant requirement for student workers.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Receipt payments from students, campus industries, donors, and alumni,
Process a variety of money, make change and roll coins,
Assists students with account balances and work hours,
Proofreading receipts and auditing entries.
Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Assist supervisor with other office-related duties,
Scanning and linking paperwork to student's accounts,
General cleaning of each office area.
Must maintain confidentiality at all times,
Ability to communicate with people, both in person and via telephone,
Dependability, promptness, and professionalism,
Ability to maintain a service-oriented attitude, even in a fast-paced setting,
Attention to detail, especially when entering data via computer.
Must have good money handling skills.
Pleasant and courteous personality,
Ability to work with others,
Patience, yet able to be firm when enforcing office policies,
Good computer skills and good spelling/grammar skills.
Maintaining the confidentiality of student educational records is a primary responsibility for this office. The Cash Accounts office has a dress code requirement.
The student will:
Develop a strong work ethic, professional demeanor, accounting skills, business principles and appropriate workplace etiquette in preparation for a successful transition into the workforce upon graduation from College of the Ozarks,
Recognize the importance of confidentiality and workplace loyalty,
Demonstrate proficiency in Jenzabar database, Perceptive Content scanning software, and Microsoft Office Excel,
Demonstrate dependability by reporting to work on time and completing tasks assigned in an efficient manner,
Maintain records with accuracy and have an eye for detail,
Understand how to take the initiative and complete tasks with confidence,
Use effective communication skills within the office setting and with other students, faculty, staff, and the public,
Understand appropriate attire and display positive work habits.
