Current Student Registration

Prior To Your Registration Date Complete the Following

  • Review your advising worksheet PDF to determine what classes you need.
  • Look at course descriptions to note any classes that are only offered in certain semesters. Example: Spring Only, Fall-Odd
  • Plan to register in 15-18 credit hours. More or less hours may cause a Dean of the College (DC) notice which will require overload/underload approval.
  • Meet with your advisor to discuss your plan and receive registration clearance.
  • Complete the registration agreement and update contact information in CampusWeb on the Student tab.
  • Determine your registration date based on your classification at the end of the current semester. If you will have 31 hours completed you will register as a sophomore, 61 hours as a junior and 91 hours as a senior.  Note: Developmental credit hours (ENG 013, IDS 021, and MAT 013) do not count toward registration credit hours.

Registration Day

  1. Log in to CampusWeb.
  2. Click the Student tab.
  3. Click the Add/Drop Courses in the Student Registration box.
  4. From the drop down box select the term for which you would like to register.
  5. Search by course code (example: ENG, MAT) or by department (example: Accounting).
  6. To register, check the box next to the section.
  7. Confirm registration success by checking your schedule at the bottom of the add course screen.
  8. Confirm you are taking the right classes by checking to see if they fill in correctly on your advising worksheet. It can take up to 6 minutes for your advising worksheet to update.

Things To Know

  • Registration Dates – Make sure you complete your initial registration prior to the beginning of transfer student registration. This is how the College knows you plan to attend next semester. If you do not plan to attend see the withdrawal section below.
  • Withdrawal – If you do not plan to attend C of O next semester, complete the Student Withdrawal form found on the Student Resources tab of CampusWeb. Select effective end of semester. This lets the College know you do not plan to attend next semester and will prevent next semester’s fees from being added to your student account.
  • Upper Division (300-400) Level Classes - Course numbers that begin with a three or four are considered upper division.  To register for upper division classes you must have 45 credit hours completed by the end of the current semester.
  • Waitlist – If a section is full you may choose to join the waitlist. If a seat becomes available the Registrar’s Office will automatically register you from the waitlist. Make sure you do not register for a different class scheduled for the same time as your waitlisted class. If the time is not available in your schedule the Registrar’s Office will remove you from the waitlist and register the next person. Remember being on the waitlist does not guarantee you will receive a seat in the class and waitlisted credits do not count toward your registered hours. Use this feature wisely.
  • Time Conflict – You cannot register online for two classes with overlapping times. You must register for one of the classes and then complete a Class Conflict Form (CampusWeb,Student Resources tab) to request permission to register for the other class. If the request is approved, the Registrar’s Office will add the second class to your schedule. (Athletes and Music Students Only:  If you have a time conflict with sports training or music practice, request your coach/music instructor grant a time conflict authorization through Campusweb.)
  • Prerequisite/Corequisite/Permission – If you are not currently enrolled in or have not met the prerequisite/corequisite for a course or if the course requires instructor permission you will not be able to register for the course until the instructor completes a course authorization in CampusWeb.  Once complete you will be able to register online for the course.
  • Lab Classes - Some classes have separate lecture and labs sections.  For these classes you must register for both a lecture time and a lab time.  Labs can be identified on the class schedule by the “L” following the course number and the "L" in the section number.  Example:  BIO 104L L1
  • Holds - A hold is a warning that goes on your student record to let you know the College requires action from you. It can be paying a balance, submitting paperwork, registering for additional hours, etc. Holds are place on student accounts after all students have had a chance to register. Watch your email for information about holds and know the due date to resolve holds. Students who do not resolve their holds by the deadline have their class schedule dropped, a $100 fee added to their student account, and their class seats go to students on the waitlist. Do not let this happen to you!
  • Internship – Complete the Internship Release of Liability in Campusweb on the Student Resources tab.  Then, ask the C of O faculty member supervising your internship to submit the Internship Application.  These two items must be submitted before the end of the first week of classes for the semester of your internship.  Once your internship is approved, the Registrar’s Office will register you for the class.  You may only place an internship on the semester in which you are completing the work hours.
  • Email – Check your email regularly even when classes are not in session. The College may have a question for you or need you to complete an action. Email is how we will tell you.
