SUBJECT: STUDENT NURSING PINNING AND BLESSING CEREMONY SLATED FOR MAY 12
By: Jacob McCauley
The College of the Ozarks Armstrong McDonald School of Nursing will host its third annual Pinning and Blessing Ceremony on Saturday, May 12, at 4 p.m., in Williams Memorial Chapel.
“A nursing pin is traditionally presented to newly-graduated nurses as a symbolic welcome into the profession,” says Nursing Program Director Dr. Janice Williams. “It signifies the completion of a rigorous educational process.”
At the ceremony, 16 students will receive a specially designed pin that reflects the program’s five main pursuits of Truth, Character, Critical Thinking, the Tenets of Florence Nightingale and Creating a Nourishing Environment. Refreshments will be served following the observance.
The event is free of charge and open to the public. Please RSVP by Monday, April 30, to the Nursing Office at (417) 690-2421.
