SUBJECT: COMMEMORATION KICKOFF FOR THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE VIETNAM WAR
College of the Ozarks cordially invites the public, and especially Vietnam Veterans and family members of Vietnam Veterans, to attend a kickoff event on March 30, for the Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War. The event will begin at 11 a.m. in The Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks.
“In the coming months, the College has plans to host numerous events to honor American Veterans of the Vietnam War,” said C of O Executive Vice President Fred Mullinax. “We are excited to share with the community and, especially our Veterans, the ways in which we plan to pay tribute to Vietnam Veterans, as well as educate the younger generation on their service and sacrifice.”
During the brief event on March 30, Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day, the College will announce its partnership with the Department of Defense for the official Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War. The program will feature brief remarks by College of the Ozarks President Jerry C. Davis, an overview of several special events the College will sponsor during the Commemoration and musical selections performed by the College Chapel Choir.
All Vietnam Veterans in attendance will receive coupons for free admission to the Ralph Foster Museum and ice cream from The College Creamery. All attendees are invited to check out the Patriotic Education Gallery Exhibit in The Keeter Center, which features pictures, memorabilia and more that pay tribute to World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War.
