SUBJECT: ARTIST SCOTT MEYER’S CERAMICS ON DISPLAY
By: Tyler Lopez
The Boger Gallery at College of the Ozark’s will feature an exhibition, “Scott Meyer, Ceramic Sculpture,” featuring a variety of works by the renowned artist and professor of ceramics at the University of Montevallo in Birmingham, Alabama.
This collection of works explores the connection and interdependence of mind and heart as explored through the vessel of the crucible, an object used for melding metals together to create alloys. “The crucible remains one of history’s most indelible and pervasive icons for actual and symbolic transformation,” says Dr. Meyer.
The ceramic exhibit is free and open to the public and on display from October 8 - November 5. Dr. Meyer will host a workshop on October 9, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., as well as a special lecture at 7 p.m., in the Gittinger Music Building Recital Hall, which will also be open to the public. The Boger Gallery is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. as well as Saturday and Sunday 1-5 p.m. E-mail questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
