Defense Key to Lady 'Cats' Win
The College of the Ozarks' Lady 'Cats took an early lead against Friends University and steadily built upon it to finish with a 67-44 win. Emily Walker led the team in scoring with 20 points, 13 of which were scored at the free throw line. She also pulled in 10 rebounds to record a double-double. Sophomore Brandy Uchtman played a strong game contributing 14 points with two steals and five rebounds.
Friends' junior guard Kayla Mollere also posted a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Senior Sarah Munds, who had been averaging 16.3 points per game, struggled against the 'Cats' strong defense scoring only 5 points and collecting 6 rebounds. The Lady Bobcats will take their 3-0 record on the road this week as they head to Kentucky for the Georgetown College Classic. The ladies will play St. Catharine on Friday night and then face NAIA Div. I 4th ranked Georgetown College on Saturday afternoon.
