Beginning Teacher Assistance Program Workshop
Each fall the College of the Ozarks’ Education Department hosts a half-day Beginning Teacher Assistance Program Workshop for first and second-year teachers. Through this workshop, the College seeks to provide participants with an opportunity to network with other beginning teachers in the area and receive additional training that will assist them in their goal to become successful educators. Our next Beginning Teacher Workshop will be held October 17, 2017 on the College campus. The 2017 Beginning Teacher Assistance Program Workshop includes the following speakers:
Dr. Michelle Brenner
Dr. Michelle Brenner is currently the Director of Digital Learning for the Branson School District. She spent 8 years at Branson High School as an assistant principal. She currently teaches Admin courses for Lindenwood University and enjoys helping teachers learn.
Mrs. Harmon is in her 13th year of teaching music (6th year at Ozark). She is certified in K-12 music education, 1-6 elementary education, and received her masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Lindenwood University.
Mrs. Nina Henson is currently the Principal at Hollister Elementary. She is beginning her first year as lead Principal following two years as Assistant Principal in the Hollister Middle School. Prior to, she taught 4th grade for six years at Branson Schools.
Jenny Holman is a second grade teacher at Hollister Elementary. This is her 8th year in the classroom. She is an Ozark native who graduated from Truman State University with a Master of Arts in Education. When she's not teaching she enjoys hiking, paper crafts, and knitting.
Mrs. Mast is in her 9th year teaching in the Ozark R-VI School District. Her teaching journey began as a 1st grade teacher, looped to second, and eventually third. After earning her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, she worked alongside teachers as a K-2 Literacy Coach and finally found a way to connect all of her loves as a K-5 art teacher.
