Blair Receives Honorable Mention All-American

Hayley BlairThis week Hayley Blair, Senior Libero for the College of the Ozarks’ Volleyball team, received yet another prestigious award to add to her college career.  Blair was named Honorable Mention on the 2013 Tachikara NAIA Volleyball All-America Team.

Blair completed her senior season by leading her team and the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference with 789 digs.   Her average of 5.8 digs per game also placed her in the NAIA’s top 5. Blair has been a four-year starter for the Bobcats and received numerous awards during her career, including multiple Player of the Week awards, MCAC First Team All-Conference Award (2011 and 2012), NAIA Honorable Mention All-American (2011), MCAC Freshman of the Year (2010) and 2nd Team All-Conference (2010).

Not only is Hayley a strong player, but she also excels in the classroom.  While pursuing a double major in Physical Education K-12/Secondary Education, she has received multiple academic awards such as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete, College of the Ozarks’ Scholar Athlete and numerous semesters on the Dean’s List.  Both on and off the court, Blair has demonstrated great character along with her academic ability.

Head Coach Nick Sharp states, “Hayley has proven to be one of the most decorated defensive players to wear a Bobcat uniform.   It is very difficult to be nationally recognized as a libero, but Hayley’s relentless defensive pursuit and competitiveness earned her this respect.”

Congratulations, Hayley!
