Speech Communication

The Speech Communication emphasis prepares students to participate in the modern world, with a mixture of practical experience and theoretical knowledge. Students in the Speech Communication emphasis will graduate with 1) a knowledge of the principles of speech and how to conduct and rehearse a speech; 2) a knowledge of how communication works in settings such as interpersonal, organizational, and group experiences; and 3) an understanding of how external factors, such as culture, can affect communication.
