Food Purchaser/Store Room Clerk - College of the Ozarks is looking for an experienced Food Purchaser/Store Room Clerk for the College’s Cafeteria.  Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a high volume kitchen with a solid background of supervisory skills. Key skill requirements are to order, receive and store goods according to Health Code. The ideal candidate must a have a strong working knowledge of online ordering for a high volume kitchen (including reading recipes); ability to lift at least 50# without assistance; be highly organized; be able to communicate with vendors, cooks, and managers; able to lead a group of 6 students;  and relate well with the Academic, Vocational, Christian, Cultural, and Patriotic mission points of the College. Keeter Center – Guest Services Supervisor-Night Auditor - The Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks is a hotel, restaurant and conference center that has an excellent opportunity for a Night Auditor. The right person will have a thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of hotel-resort operations and light accounting. The Night Auditor will be responsible for overnight front desk, reservations, guest services and night auditor duties. Previous Night Auditor experience of two years required. The successful candidate must embrace the College’s Christ-centered mission and five-fold vision and also demonstrate a commitment to service. Other important qualities necessary for this position include:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Professional demeanor

  • Light accounting, reconciling cashiers daily paper work

Previous hotel management experience of two years required.  The successful candidate will also provide strategic leadership expertise that ensures the effective and efficient operations of the business while improving on the current model, and in doing so, helps the operation thrive in the Work Education program at the college.

The right person will have a thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of hotel-resort operations. The Guest Services Supervisor will be responsible for the front desk, reservations, guest services, housekeeping, gift shop, inspections and scheduling. Keeter Center – Restaurant Supervisor  -  The Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks is currently hiring for the position of Restaurant Supervisor.  A successful candidate for this position demonstrates thorough knowledge of Restaurant management practices and a strong desire to help develop a very fast-paced and detail-oriented team.  Previous restaurant management experience of two years required.  We are seeking candidates that are capable of hands-on-management and overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, bakery, creamery and room service. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Functional, hands-on management of meal services
  • Financial management with associated reports
  • Ensuring a positive guest experience

The following was posted on April 25, 2019:

Admissions Representative -  College of the Ozarks invites applications for a full-time Admissions Representative. Bachelor’s degree is required. Starting date is August 1, 2019. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Representing the College at college fairs and high school visits (overnight travel required); interviewing prospective students; assisting with the coordination and planning of annual recruiting events and new student banquet, and assisting with management of the admissions office social media accounts. This is a ten-month position: August 1-May 31).

The successful candidate must embrace the College’s Christ-centered mission and vision. Other important qualities necessary for this position include strong organizational, writing, and communication skills. The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and enjoy marketing, and being creative. The Admissions Representative serves prospective students by helping them navigate the application process at this selective, Christian institution.

Front of House Supervisor  - College of the Ozarks is looking for an experienced Front of the House Supervisor at the College’s Pearl Rogers Dining Hall.  Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a high volume restaurant/cafeteria with a solid background of supervisory skills. Key skill requirements are to lead and train 140 student workers, enforce policies, have a basic understanding of cooking food and how to safely handle and serve food, and ensure a positive dining experience for all guests. Preferred qualifications include good communication skills, ability to use a computer and software, ability to do the job without supervision, a positive attitude, an eye for detail and relate well with the Academic, Vocational, Christian, Cultural, and Patriotic mission points of the College. Industrial Engineering - College of the Ozarks invites applications for a full-time faculty position in industrial engineering and related topics.  In support of our young and growing multidisciplinary engineering program, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses across the range of industrial engineering topics, as well as support work in related areas such as manufacturing and systems engineering and assist with teaching core engineering topics.  Additional duties include advising students, supporting senior design projects, working on projects with regional industry, and participating in student design competitions.

The preferred start date is no later than August 1, 2019.

The position requires an M.S. or Ph.D. in industrial engineering or a related field, and a self-motivated, versatile individual with strong classroom teaching skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively with other faculty members.  Preference will be given to candidates who hold a Ph.D. and have a P.E. license with industry experience.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
