Assistant Restaurant Manager - The Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks is currently hiring for the position of Assistant Restaurant Manager.  A successful candidate for this position demonstrates thorough knowledge of management practices and a strong desire to help develop a very fast-paced and detail-oriented team.  Previous restaurant management experience required.  We are seeking candidates that are capable of hands-on-management and overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, bakery, creamery and room service. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Functional, hands-on management of meal services and completing associated reports.
  • Assisting in training new student workers in different areas of the restaurant.
  • Financial management
  • Ensuring a positive guest experience.
  • Engaging with and taking an active part in the professional development of student workers.
  • Demonstrating and upholding the standards of The Keeter Center and the goals and mission of College of the Ozarks.

The following was posted on November 16, 2018:

Industrial Engineering - College of the Ozarks invites applications for a full-time faculty position in industrial engineering and related topics.  In support of our young and growing multidisciplinary engineering program, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses across the range of industrial engineering topics, as well as support work in related areas such as manufacturing and systems engineering and assist with teaching core engineering topics.  Additional duties include advising students, supporting senior design projects, working on projects with regional industry, and participating in student design competitions.

The preferred start date is no later than August 1, 2019.

The position requires an M.S. or Ph.D. in industrial engineering or a related field, and a self-motivated, versatile individual with strong classroom teaching skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively with other faculty members.  Preference will be given to candidates who hold a Ph.D. and have a P.E. license with industry experience.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Retail Merchandiser – College of the Ozarks invites professional and service oriented individuals to apply for a position in the Retail Operations department.  The ideal candidate for this position would provide organizational stability in ensuring effective product inventory, pricing, and display management at retail locations and online. This involves working closely with the buyer/manufacturer to plan inventory levels, and monitoring product performance, while overseeing product distribution of merchandise and leading monthly inventory.  The position ensures that operationally standards are met, guest needs targeted, with focus on growing business and maximizing the financial performance of the operations, while maintaining the integrity of the college in all business practices and relations. The right candidate must have a successful track record in retail management and marketing.

Other important qualities necessary for this position include strong analytical and numerical skills, attention to detail, as well as the ability to work quickly to identify problems and recommend solutions. The ideal candidate for this position is one who can lead with a passion for excellence service and staff development.  The successful candidate will also provide strategic leadership expertise that ensures the effective and efficient operations of the business while improving on the current model, and in doing so, helps the operation thrive in the Work Education program at the college.

Areas of responsibility include Guest Relations, Housekeeping, Retail/Gift Shop, Security, Sales and Maintenance. Position works with direct reports to develop and implement departmental strategies and ensures implementation of service standards. The position ensures operations meet the standards, target guest needs, ensure staff development, focuses on growing business and maximizes the financial performance of the operations.
