Cost of Education Scholarship
College of the Ozarks guarantees
to meet the entire Cost of Education (tuition)
for each full-time student through
a combination of the work program and federal,
state, and institutional funds.
McKibben
Room and Board Scholarship
McKibben Scholarships are available
to outstanding freshmen. The scholarship
is based on ACT scores, exceptional grades
in high school, leadership involvement, and
financial need. Recipients are selected
by the Dean of Admissions after admission
to the College and are renewable based on
academic success and leadership performance.
Applications are not required.
L.W. Hyer Book
Scholarship
$200 per semester
$100 paid by bookstore credit
$100 paid to student
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled/accepted
- Apply each semester
- Dorm student
- At least 24 hours of credit
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better
- Transfer Students: In addition
to transfer credit hours, student
must complete 1 semester with 12 hours
credit and a GPA of 2.5 or better at C
of O
- Have financial need based on FAFSA
- Cannot be on any type of probation

C of O Book Scholarship
$150 Bookstore credit per semester

Summer
Work Scholarship
Room and board scholarships
may be awarded to admitted students who
are selected to participate in the on-campus
summer work program.

- Two six-week sessions, 40 hours per
week
- Working either session provides a scholarship
for room and board for the following
fall term
- Working both sessions provides a room
and board scholarship for the
following fall and spring terms
- Summer room and board is covered while

General Terrence
R. Dake, USMC (Ret.)
Aviation Scholarship
College of the Ozarks provides
an opportunity for deserving C of O students
to apply for a $2,500 scholarship to begin,
or advance, their aviation flight training.
This scholarship is established to honor
the distinguished military aviation career
of General Terrence R. Dake, a C of O alumnus
and trustee.
- Applications must be received by the
Dean of Work Education office no later
than 1 May. Applicants will be notified,
if selected for the scholarship, by 1
June.
- Students must be in good standing in
their academics and in the Work Program.
They must maintain at least a 3.0 academic
and Work Grade average.
- Students must have completed at least
30 semester hours of academic course work
at C of O prior to scholarship award.
- Student desire, motivation and any
previously accomplished flight training
progress will be considered as a part
of the selection process.

Athletic
Scholarships
Forty-eight athletic scholarships
are available each year. The Athletic
Director determines these awards.

Benefits from
The C of O Alumni Scholarship
Student selected by the Alumni Scholarship Committee will be awarded a room and board or cash scholarship. These scholarships will be presented each year at the Awards Convocation. (The cash scholarships will be awarded as follows: half at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.) |

Patriotic
Scholarship
College of the Ozarks Patriotic Scholarships: Patriotic Scholarships are provided to students who attend and satisfactorily complete the Leader’s Training Course and/or the Leader Development and Assessment Course. This $1,500 partial room and board scholarship will be divided between the fall and spring semesters ($400 in the fall and $1,100 in the spring), assuming satisfactory academic, work, and citizenship standards have been maintained. Contracted and ROTC Scholarship resident students will receive a full room and board Patriotic Scholarship. Qualifying non-resident students will receive compensation for books, cafeteria meals, and transportation. Selected students who consecutively complete the four basic military science courses (MIL 121, 131, 202, and 212) during their freshman and sophomore years, will also be eligible for the Patriotic Scholarship.
Ozarks
Fellowship
Outstanding graduating seniors
with a minimum GPA of 3.2 planning to attend
graduate or professional school may apply
to the Dean of the College for the honor
of being designated an Ozarks Fellow.
Recipients of this fellowship receive a
stipend to aid them financially during their
first year of graduate study (non-renewable).
A 500-word essay detailing the student's
graduate plans and financial needs, two
academic letters of recommendations, one
letter of personal reference, and evidence
of acceptance to graduate or professional
school should be sent to the Dean no later
than April 1.
Afro
American Society Scholarship
The Afro American Scholarship
is awarded yearly by September 15th in the
amount of $500
Requirements:
- Must be of African or African
American descent
- Must not be on any type of probationary
status
- 2.3 GPA or above
- Complete the Application and return to the Financial Aid
Office preferably by July 15th
