SUBJECT: AWARD WINNING GUITARIST CHARLES DAVID SMART TO PERFORM AT COLLEGE OF THE OZARKS
By: Rebecca Wright
College of the Ozarks will host a convocation featuring Christian guitarist David Smart on Tuesday February 9, at 7 p.m., in Jones Auditorium.
As an active composer, Smart has premiered works for sanctuary choirs, children's groups, instrumental ensembles and soloists. His personal music ministry has been heard worldwide, including the United States, Canada, England, Russia, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
A true love for the Lord, unique arrangements and subtle humor has helped Smart lead inspiring worship and praise celebrations in numerous worship centers such as Robert Schuller Ministries and The Crystal Cathedral.
Smart currently teaches music at MidAmerica Nazarene University and Kansas City Kansas Community College. He, his wife and their youngest son are active with the Olathe Westside Church in Kansas City, where they directly participate in many areas of family ministry. Their two older sons serve in other ministries nationwide.
Students will be allowed priority seating for the event, but any seats left open will be available to the public free of charge. For more information, please call the Campus Ministries Department at (417) 690-3446.
