SUBJECT: KY3’S STEVE GRANT TO GIVE ADDRESS, RECEIVE HONORARY DOCTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE AT COLLEGE OF THE OZARKS COMMENCEMENT THIS SUNDAY
College of the Ozarks will hold its Commencement at 2 p.m. on May 13, during which 308 students will receive their bachelor degrees. Mr. Steve Grant, KY3 Senior Anchor and Ozarks Honor Flight Spokesman, will give the Commencement address entitled “Hard Work Beats Mere Talent.”
The Baccalaureate service, featuring Dr. Stephen J. Andrews, Professor and Director of Ph.D. Program at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, will begin at 11 a.m. on May 13, as well.
During Commencement, the College will confer to Mr. Grant an Honorary Doctor of Public Service for his long-time dedication to bringing the news to the Ozarks and for his work in ensuring WWII Veterans are honored with the opportunity to visit their memorial in our nation’s capital.
Because of his efforts, more than 1,200 WWII Veterans living in the Ozarks have visited the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C.
“Not only has Steve served the Ozarks by reporting news that people want to know and need to know, he has taken a leadership role in promoting the Ozarks Honor Flight program, both widely admired in state and out of state,” said President Davis. “The College shares this important effort to recognize those who have served our country and to educate younger generations about the service and sacrifice given by Veterans.”
Both Commencement and Baccalaureate will be held in the Keeter Gymnasium. General admission seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please contact the Dean of the College office at (417) 690-2278 for more information.
