SUBJECT: CALL FOR PAINTINGS FOR ANNUAL WHITE RIVER PAINTING EXHIBIT
By: Moriah Isringhausen
Artists throughout the Ozarks region are invited to submit paintings for the White River Painting Exhibit at the Ralph Foster Museum. Paintings should reflect the artist’s personal views of what is important to him/her about the Ozarks.
Paintings may be submitted in most any medium on which there has been “some pigment pushed around.” Entries should be original and completed within the last two years and not the product of a painting workshop. Artists are limited to submitting two entries. Entries must not have been previously exhibited in the Ralph Foster Museum’s past White River Painting exhibits. Dr. Peggy Kjelgaard, executive director at the Eureka Springs School of the Arts, will serve as this year’s juror.
The paintings may be delivered to the Ralph Foster Museum from Nov. 1 through Nov. 13, Monday-Saturday. The entry fee for each painting is $5, and the exhibit will run Nov. 14–Dec. 20.
An opening reception to celebrate this special exhibit will take place Nov.14, 2-4:30 p.m. in Edwards Art Gallery of the Ralph Foster Museum. Monetary awards will be awarded for the top three, as well as for honorable mentions. Many of the paintings will be for sale.
