SUBJECT: BOBCATS “BASEBALL FOR HEROES” IN HONOR OF VIETNAM VETERANS
By: Lauren Meyer
On Friday, April 4, the Christian Psychology Club and the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Club along with the Bobcat Baseball Team, will host “Baseball for Heroes,” when C of O takes on Oklahoma Wesleyan University at 3 and 6 p.m. in the Coach Bob Smith Baseball Field. An honor ceremony for Vietnam Veterans will be held before the start of the second game at approximately 5:45p.m.
Men and women who served in the Vietnam War are invited to attend and be recognized at the game. Veterans will receive a free commemorative t-shirt, popcorn and drink.
“This is a great opportunity for us to be a part of something that is a lot bigger than just baseball,” said C of O Baseball Coach Jason Reinsch. “Our military and the sacrifices that they have made are something that we should all be very thankful for. Baseball is just a side note on Friday; those men and women are why we are doing this event.”
The College encourages the entire community to attend in order to help honor Vietnam Veterans. Both games are free and open to the public. For more information contact Public Relations at (417) 690-2212 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
