SUBJECT: HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR MARION LAZAN SPEAKS OF HER SURVIVAL
By: Chelsea Kliethermes
Marion Lazan, a Holocaust survivor and co-author of the award-winning novel Four Perfect Pebble, will share about her life in Germany during the Holocaust on Monday, April 30, 2012, at 7 p.m., at College of the Ozarks in the Jones Auditorium.
She will tell about her family's imprisonment in concentration camps to their liberation in April of 1945. Mrs. Lazan was 11 years old when the family gained its freedom from Hitler’s rule.
Lazan's mission is to speak to as many students as possible, so that they hear the story directly from a survivor. Her presentation goes beyond the fact. She stresses the importance of positive thinking, as well as creativity and inner-strength when working to overcome adversity.
The convocation is free and open to the public. However, C of O students receive priority seating; any remaining seats are open to the public.
