SUBJECT: CULINARY CAMP FOR TEENS AT THE KEETER CENTER
By: Lauren Meyer
The Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks will host the 9th annual Culinary Day Camp for students ages 14 to 18 who are interested in cooking and culinary arts. The “Italian Cuisine” Camp is scheduled for Monday, June 23, through Friday, June 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Campers will explore culinary arts with this hands-on, interactive workshop sponsored by the C of O Dietetics and Hotel/Restaurant Management programs (HRM). Keeter Center Executive Chef and HRM culinary instructor Robert Stricklin, additional dietetics and culinary C of O professors and local restaurant leaders will educate students on the cultural background, preparation and presentation of authentic Italian cuisine.
Other planned events include a campus tour, lunches at the Pearl Rogers Dinning Hall and a culminating reception on Friday evening at The Keeter Center. The reception is a dinner fully planned, prepared and served by the participants for two members of their respective families. The meal cost for these two family members is included in the price of registration; a small fee for additional reservations is required.
The camp fee is $100, and space is limited. The deadline to enroll is June 10. For more information, please contact Chef Robert Stricklin at 417-690-2108 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
