College of the Ozarks students, Vietnam Veterans, to travel to Vietnam

POINT LOOKOUT, MO. College of the Ozarks is sending 12 students to Vietnam, paired with 12 Vietnam Veterans, from March 18-31, 2017, traveling as part of the Patriotic Education Travel Program. Many of the groups’ destinations correspond with previous battle sites of the Veteran participants.

The trip is under the direction of Bryan Cizek, director of patriotic activities. This Patriotic Education Travel trip is No. 21 for the College, with previous trips including Veterans from World War II, Cold War, Korean War, and Vietnam War.

“We are pleased to take students with Veterans to learn about the Vietnam War,” Cizek said. “After these trips, we are confident our students are the most knowledgeable college students in the nation about this war. Most importantly, they forge incredible relationships with our revered Veterans.”

During this trip, students and Veterans will visit various sites of the Vietnam War, including Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Da Nang, Marble Mountain, A Shau Valley, Hue, Dong Ha, Khe Sanh, the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), Hanoi, Son Tay, and various military and cultural museums and sites.
