School of the Ozarks student Jenna Carey makes All-District Concert Band Jenna Carey, School of the Ozarks senior, makes All-District Concert Band.
POINT LOOKOUT, MO. — School of the Ozarks senior Jenna Carey was selected for The Missouri Bandmasters Association All-District Concert Band, which is comprised of outstanding musicians from the South Central District of Missouri. The band performed the concert in January at Southwest Baptist University.
Last fall, 700 students auditioned before an expert judge for his or her instrument. Out of these students, 200 were selected. Carey and other participants were given college-level musical exercises to prepare for the audition.
The sponsoring organization is The Missouri Bandmasters Association, which sponsors an All-District Band in each of the 13 districts around Missouri.
Carey is a clarinetist and plays tenor saxophone in the S of O Concert Band. She has performed with the College of the Ozarks Concert Band for three years and was invited to perform with the Southwest Baptist University Honors Band earlier this year.
Carey plans to attend the College of the Ozarks next year and major in music.
