College of the Ozarks will host the 23rd Annual NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball National Championship March 12-18, 2014. This marks the fifteenth year that C of O has hosted the national tournament; all games take place in the Keeter Gymnasium of the Howell W. Keeter Athletic Complex.
The Division II Championship is a 32-team, single-elimination tournament featuring the champions of the Division II conferences and at-large berths.
College of the Ozarks hosts the national event with the help of many individuals and businesses. Approximately 650 volunteers from the local community are invaluable to C of O and NAIA staff during the tournament. Volunteers help with multiple tasks, such as program sales, ushering and ticket sales.
The NAIA Championship benefits both area residents and businesses directly and indirectly, aiding Branson’s economy by drawing approximately 20,000 visitors to the area each year.
“This event brings a great deal of energy and excitement to the campus and the Tri-Lakes area,” said C of O Sports Information Director Dori Rapinchuk. “The NAIA Championship provides the opportunity to view some fantastic basketball at a reasonable cost in a family-friendly environment, and we are proud to host the Championship and appreciative of the incredible support provided by our community.”
Reserved seating is $15 per session, and general admission is $10 per session. To purchase tickets or receive more information, please call 417-335-NAIA (6242) or visit the website at www.cofo.edu/naia.
