College of the Ozarks ranks No. 1 in listing, Top 50 Best Christian Colleges and Universities for 2018
POINT LOOKOUT, MO. — College of the Ozarks has been ranked No. 1 in a listing of the Top 50 Best Christian Colleges and Universities by Christian Universities Online (CUO) on May 8, 2018.
This ranking seeks to highlight intentionally Christian colleges and universities that excel in categories of personal attention to their students, selectivity, readily available financial aid, and overall student satisfaction. Christian Universities Online (CUO) strives to be the go to and trusted resource for students and their parents in deciding which school to attend.
“As a general guide to Christian colleges and universities, this ranking presents schools that excel in various areas,” says Best Christian College. “The schools that are included represent the best available Christian colleges and universities in the country.”
“Each has its own unique characteristics which are important for the prospective student to consider.”
The vision of College of the Ozarks is to develop citizens of Christ-like character who are well-educated, hard-working, and patriotic. To achieve this vision, the College has academic, vocational, cultural, Christian, and patriotic goals.
Methodology for ranking
CUO considers schools that are either members of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) or able to be considered member eligible. They then collected publicly available data in the categories of 1) faculty-to-student ratio, 2) percent of full-time beginning undergraduates receiving grant or scholarship aid, 3) selectivity, 4) overall retention rate, and 5) overall graduation rate. The data sets were standardized, weights were assigned to each of these categories, and an overall score was calculated.
