SUBJECT: CAMP LOOKOUT SEEKING 2013 SUMMER CAMPERS
By: Nathan Brown
Camp Lookout still has 120 open spots for its summer 2013 session, themed around aviation. For the 21st consecutive summer, College of the Ozarks will host its Christian summer camp for deserving area children. Camp Lookout serves as a free camp for children who want the experience of summer camp, but lack the opportunity due to finances. The camp will be open June 3 through August 9. Applications are currently being accepted until positions are filled.
Around 500 children in Stone and Taney County attend the camp each summer. Campers ranging between the ages of 8-12 enjoy swimming, making crafts and completing service projects each week. C of O students participating in the College’s Summer Work Education Program serve as the camp counselors.
“Children who attend Camp Lookout will make memories that last a life-time,” said Camp Lookout Director Nancy Finn. “Campers will enjoy everything about camp including the time they get to spend with the outstanding college students that serve as counselors.”
For more information or an application, please contact Camp Lookout Director Nancy Finn, at 417-690-3454, or go to www.cofo.edu and under the “About Tab” click on “Community Programs,” then “Camp Lookout.”
