Hi everyone! My name is Janae. I am originally from around St. Louis, MO and I’m now a senior at College of the Ozarks! I just finished one of the busiest summers of my life working as a camp counselor for six weeks, and now it’s time to head back to school which I couldn’t be more excited about!
I love everything about C of O! One of the biggest advantages is that C of O provides the opportunity to work for my education. This not only makes my tuition free, (which is a huge financial burden lifted off me and my family), but makes me truly value my education because I earn it. This year I plan to use the money I made at camp to help pay for my books and any extra expenses I have.
On top of that College of the Ozarks incorporates other crucial cornerstones of life such as cultural, patriotic, and most important to me personally, spiritual. C of O has allowed me to grow spiritually and truly make my faith my own. Also, I love that it is a small school with about 1,400 students. This makes us a very tight knit group, and the relationships between both students and faculty is refreshing. Knowing that my professors not only know me by name but that they care about me as a person makes me appreciate my education and work that much harder to get the highest grades possible.
With graduation in my near future, looking back at my journey here at C of O I wouldn’t change a thing. I know without a doubt my time here has created lasting friendships, taught me many life lessons, and helped me to mature into a responsible adult. For me, College of the Ozarks is the perfect blend of college and reality.
Well…it’s time to go. Gotta head to my workstation, clock in and get busy….we are Hard Work U after all! But I’ll keep you updated as the year goes on!!! |
