Head Baseball Coach John Hartley enters his third year at College of the Ozarks.  The 2009 season was Coach Hartley’s 26th season as a Head Baseball Coach and leaves Hartley’s overall coaching record at 897-480.  Coach Hartley was the Head Coach at Willard High School in Willard, MO for 21 years and has served as a Head Coach for the Willard American Legion and the Springfield Kickapoo American Legion baseball clubs in addition to four summers with the Midwest Nationals Select baseball club.  In the summer of 2005, Coach Hartley led the Nationals White team to a Premier National Championship.

Coach Hartley was inducted in 1997 into the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.  Hartley has also served the MHSBCA as a past president and is a past member of Missouri Baseball Advisory Committee.  Currently, Coach Hartley is in his first year as the MCAC Baseball Chair.

Coach Hartley has been able to guide 65 Willard players to a collegiate scholarship and has coached 10 players taken in the MLB draft.  Hartley enjoys teaching and coaching young people and helping them find their path in life and on the baseball diamond.  Coach Hartley teaches in the Physical Education department at College of the Ozarks.

Coach Hartley is a 1974 graduate of Springfield Central High School and  received his Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education in 1979 from Oakland City College in Oakland City, IN.  Hartley is currently finishing his Masters degree in Athletic/Activities Administration from William Woods University.

Coach Hartley and his wife of 33 years, Julie, currently live in Willard, MO where Julie is the Assistant Athletic Director at Willard High School.  Their daughter, Kelly Richardson, an All-American volleyball player and graduate of Evangel University, is the Head Volleyball Coach at Southwest Baptist University.  Kelly is married to Robb Richardson, an All-American football player and graduate of Evangel University and is employed by the Manson Corporation.  Their son, Tyler, is a sophomore Bobcat Baseball player and majoring in Secondary Education.


Jason Reinsch returns to College of the Ozarks for his second year as assistant coach to John Hartley. Reinsch pitched at C of O from 2002 – 2006 before graduating in the spring of 2007.

Reinsch began his coaching career in 2003 when he joined the Republic American Legion coaching staff, where he served for two years.  Since then, he has served as both an assistant and head coach with the Midwest Nationals summer organization.  Reinsch was also the head baseball coach at Iberia High School in central Missouri during the 2007-2008 school year.

Coach Reinsch is a graduate of Republic High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History and Secondary Education from College of the Ozarks.  He is currently working on his Masters Degree and serving as C of O’s Intramural Director.

Jason is in his first year of marriage to Lacie (Cole) Reinsch, a C of O graduate, who is currently teaching at Kirbyville Middle School.  Jason and Lacie reside in Hollister.
