Ethical Eddie
As white collar crime appears in newspaper headlines, corporations ask when to start holding higher standards. We made it our goal to start with a new generation of potential business leaders. The goal of the Ethical Eddie project was to present 500 grade school students at Branson Primary with everyday situations and teach them how to make the right decision. We performed this project in conjunction with our faculty advisor Autumn Moody and her ventriloquist puppet, Ethical Eddie. He appeared and spoke about telling lies during the kid’s monthly character assembly. COSIFE led students in the song, "If you’re honest and you know it" before taking the kids into the classroom.
In the classroom, Ethical Eddie spoke about telling lies and how to recognize a lie. COSIFE organized a good character coloring contest and awarded 44 prizes with the slogan, "Be A Star, Stick to the Truth." Quizzes, given to the classes after the character assembly, showed positive results. The classes retained 64% of the information provided.
