Lady Bobcats Headed to Semi-Finals

The LLady Catsady Bobcats had another great day on the court at the National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa, as they defeated Northwestern College (seeded #1 in the Bobcat’s bracket) by a score of 90-69!

Leading the scoring today was Emily Walker with 22 points, hitting 15-16 free throws and three field goals, and also providing a team-leading 7 rebounds. Alice Heinzler and Jeana Raper sank eight 3-pointers between them and contributed 21 and 16 points respectively. Not to be left out, Kayla Kepler also posted double-figure scoring with 15 points. Northwestern guard Alli Engebretson piled up 26 points, but it was not enough to carry her team to victory.

Today’s win places the Lady ‘Cats in the semi-finals on Monday evening at 8 PM, where they will face the winner of No. 2 Hastings (Neb.) and No. 1 Davenport (Mich.). The semi-final contest will be broadcast live on www.ESPN3.com.
