Women’s Mabee Hall Residence Director Position - The College of the Ozarks is looking for a women’s residence director in Mabee Hall.  This is a full-time, live-in (12 month) professional position.  The residence director will work closely with the Dean of Students and the Director of Residence Life to ensure that housing operations run accordingly for the hall.  The applicant should encompass a biblical worldview with a desire to develop citizens of Christ-like character.  The major responsibilities will consist of responding to immediate student issues and coordinating programming efforts that are aligned with the mission of the school.  The successful candidate should possess good communication skills, a positive attitude, appropriate organizational skills, and relate well with the Academic, Vocational, Christian, Cultural, and Patriotic mission points of the College.  In addition, the residence director will be assigned a secondary role as determined by the Dean of Students.  The nature of this position requires some evening and weekend work hours.   This position requires a background check.  Please submit resume/application by Wednesday, December 19, 2018 to Vicki Wrosch in the Business Office or mail to Vicki Wrosch, College of the Ozarks, P.O. Financial Aid Coordinator - The financial aid coordinator must be a living example of Hard Work U, and be committed to the College. This is an exciting and complex position that focuses on three core skill sets: financial aid coordination, administrative assistance, and student work supervision. The successful candidate enjoys constant challenges and the thrill of consistently striving for improvement in delivering services to prospective students and their families. The person who fills this vital role will have the privilege of impacting student lives positively. A bachelor’s degree, at a minimum, is required. Desirable experience includes working in a financial aid office with financial aid management systems (PowerFaids, EDExpress), and the ability to use information technology for productivity, and excellent customer service skills.    The financial aid coordinator packages financial aid awards from federal, state, and institutional resources, communicates with cash accounts regarding award payments to student accounts, conducts file verification, auditing, and resolution, and payment reporting to appropriate entities.

This position reports to the Director of Financial Aid-DFA (who reports to the VP of Patriotic Activities and Dean of Admissions). Important duties include, but are not limited to, providing excellent customer service, assisting the DFA  with system maintenance and resolution, and occasional corresponding and communicating on behalf of the DFA. Assisting also includes critical opportunities such as helping students find financial resources available on campus to help meet their financial needs.  

This position also serves as a work supervisor for at least six student workers; therefore the person who fills it must have an innate ability to interact and communicate with college students. The work supervisor must be able to set high expectations for student workers, hold them accountable, while also striking the appropriate balance of compassion and understanding of their unique needs as college students. Important matters include, but are not limited to, making decisions about student work schedules, work instruction, training, and accountability.

The successful candidate must embrace the College’s Christ-centered mission, as well as its academic, vocational, cultural and patriotic goals. Additionally, the successful candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, outstanding organizational skills, and take an interest in the campus community and College activities. An individual who can meet the demands of a fast-paced environment, and adapt to unique situations that occur frequently is ideal. Maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere is vital.

Annually the financial aid office processes a multitude of financial aid applications. The office is staffed by the Director of Financial aid, the coordinator, and six student workers. In addition to programs previously mentioned, the office uses Jenzabar, Perceptive Content imaging software, and the Microsoft Office suite.

The following was posted on November 16, 2018:

Industrial Engineering - College of the Ozarks invites applications for a full-time faculty position in industrial engineering and related topics.  In support of our young and growing multidisciplinary engineering program, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses across the range of industrial engineering topics, as well as support work in related areas such as manufacturing and systems engineering and assist with teaching core engineering topics.  Additional duties include advising students, supporting senior design projects, working on projects with regional industry, and participating in student design competitions.

The preferred start date is no later than August 1, 2019.

The position requires an M.S. or Ph.D. in industrial engineering or a related field, and a self-motivated, versatile individual with strong classroom teaching skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively with other faculty members.  Preference will be given to candidates who hold a Ph.D. and have a P.E. license with industry experience.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Sports Information Assistant - College of the Ozarks invites applications for a part-time, hourly position that provides support to the Sports Information Director in management and reporting of statistics, promotional materials, post-game reporting, game-day operations, special events, and occasional other duties related to the day-to-day operations of the athletic department. Requires knowledge of multiple sports, strong writing and social media skills, a willingness to learn statistical programs, and positive inter-personal communication skills to address effectively the needs of College guests, colleagues, and students.  Weekly hours will include evenings and weekends during varsity contests and special events.

The successful applicant will fully support the College’s five-fold mission of academic, vocational, Christian, patriotic, and cultural growth. This is a nine-month position and does not include benefits. Front of the House Supervisor at the College’s Pearl Rogers Dining Hall - Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a high volume restaurant/cafeteria with a solid background of supervisory skills. Key skill requirements are to lead and train 140 student workers, enforce policies, have a basic understanding of cooking food and how to safely handle and serve food, and ensure a positive dining experience for all guests. Preferred qualifications include good communication skills, ability to use a computer and software, ability to do the job without supervision, a positive attitude, an eye for detail and relate well with the Academic, Vocational, Christian, Cultural, and Patriotic mission points of the College.
