SUBJECT: COLLEGE OF THE OZARKS TO HOLD VETERANS EVENTS DURING ANNUAL BRANSON VETERANS HOMECOMING CELEBRATION

By: Rebecca Wright

College of the Ozarks will hold various activities in participation with the annual Branson Veterans Homecoming Celebration. All events are free and open to the public, and reservations are not required.

A Gallery Exhibit featuring photographs from the 65th Anniversary of D-Day and Operation Market Garden will open at The Keeter Center on November 6. The exhibit will also include photographs of WWII Veterans related to College faculty and staff, as well as WWII artifacts and memorabilia (some recently donated items by area Veterans).

A WWII Mini Reunion for WWII Veterans will be held on November 6, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., at The Keeter Center. The program will include remarks by College of the Ozarks President Jerry C. Davis and Mr. Timothy Davis, founder of The Greatest Generations Foundation. During the reunion a recently completed documentary of the Normandy and Netherlands trips will premier, and both students and Veterans who attended the trips will speak on their experiences. Additionally, members of the Special Forces A Team will display artillery and equipment during the Reunion. After the program in the Royal Oak Forum, the American Legion Post 637 of Kimberling City women will host a reception in the U.S. Bank Foyer.

During daylight hours on November 7, a WWII Reenactment Camp, to be located in the Alumni Center lawn, will be open for visitors. Also, a WWII documentary screening will be held in the Royal Oak Forum in The Keeter Center from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Special Forces A Team Demonstrations will be held for Stone and Taney County schools at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the Royal Oak Forum of The Keeter Center on November 9 and 10. The A Team will offer one-of-a-kind demonstrations about Special Forces, including its weapons, training and assignments across the world.
