Become a Professional Army
Officer
Can you envision an honorable, exciting, adventurous
career; one that encourages exceptional levels of responsibility
and has very competitive financial, medical, and leave
programs with regular promotions and cost of living
increases? Consider a career as a United States Army
Officer beginning with the College of the Ozarks Military
Science Department. We produce Second Lieutenants as
future leaders for the Army, and launch truly satisfying
careers through our leadership-training program.
While
examining your goals at CofO, you may want to consider
the unique experiences available through the Reserve
Officer Training Corps (ROTC). Our ROTC program provides
some of the best leadership training in the world, and
develops the essential teamwork and managerial skills
required to succeed in any career. Completion of our
accelerated two-year program leads to a commission as
a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army, Army
Reserve, or Army National Guard. Your success as a “Hard
Work U” graduate can take you far, and your investment
in officer training will build upon that success by
adding another highly sought after skill to your resume:
Leadership.
Companies value professional leadership experience,
and the Army is a great place to obtain that experience.
After you complete our officer-training program and
graduate, you will immediately have the opportunity
to manage, lead, and mentor professional soldiers. This
is by far one of the most rewarding, exciting, and challenging
occupations available. The significant responsibilities
of Army officership come with substantial rewards. In
addition to a very nice salary, the Army provides health,
medical, and dental care for you, and support for your
family.
There is a commitment after college, but the benefits
last a lifetime. Employers will seek your professionalism
and leadership experience, your community will honor
your service, and the people you manage during your
civilian career will respect you for your Army service
and for your highly polished leadership skills. If you are ready to lead, serve your country, earn respectable compensation, and have more fun than you ever imagined possible in your career, contact Major James Schreffler or Colonel Gary Herchenroeder at (417)690-2294.
